Anyone have any suggestions for a newbie on how to remove this pest. It
pops up either a zestyfind search page or an ad page for a spyware remover
that I've never heard of. I've tried AdAware 6.0 and Spybot S&D 1.3 without
result.

A google search suggests using VX2Finder or Kill2Me from Merjin. Any
experience. I'm a bit hesistant about messing with the registery without
some advice. Can one simply follow the default choices/instructions with
these programs without the danger of doing too much damage?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks. I bit the bullet and used VX2Finder and Kill2Me. Jumped through
all the hoops with VX2 and it appears all is now well. It's been about an
hour, and several re-boots, without Look2me or ZestyFind showing its ugly
face. Gonna keep my fingers crossed and see if it stays away.

Also it seems that Look2me rewrote my hosts file, so I had to change that
also.

Thanks for the advice. Also thanks to Siljaline.

Paul, I am happy you got it resolved.

WinPatrol has a good HOSTS file modification function plus detection of
nasties like VX2 modifications.
